Our Story

The Legend of Rentap

Rentap was a legendary Iban warrior from Sarawak who led a fierce resistance against Brooke Colonial rule in the mid-19th century. His name means "Shaker of Hearts" — or "Earth Shaker."

After witnessing the inequality of his people and the disregard for their customs, he led a revolution against the oppressors. History remembers him as a symbol of Indigenous resistance and undying pride.

RENTAP XVII carries that spirit into Germany. It is not merely a sports tournament — it is a declaration that the Malaysian community here is still alive, still fighting, still proud.

"Let RENTAP XVII be a living tribute to that spirit — a reminder of pride, resilience, courage, and the will to shake the hearts of the people."
